For a project of our client, one of the largest providers of payment services for financial institutions in Europe, we are currently looking for a Network Engineer (f/m/d) with widespread technical understanding and core skills on Network & Security technologies.
Background:
Our clients‘ network team is responsible for running, designing, configuring and implementing network infrastructures.
The team is based in Frankfurt and working in complex multi-disciplinary infrastructures, mainly consisting of Cisco switches (IOS & NXOS), routers and firewalls (ASA/FTD, Checkpoint VSX, Palo Alto), and F5/ HA Proxy load balancers. Knowledge of these technologies is required. The team is responsible for the entire network infrastructure including the security part (implementation)
The team is also involved in transition/transformation towards Infrastructure as a Code & Cloud technologies.
You will:
- Align with business and projects regarding demands, (service)requests and new services
- Prepare (plan) network changes for CAB approval and deployment
- Assess & implement new requests based on architecture standards , policies and regulation
- Take care of design capacity and estimation models, point out bottlenecks and formulate advices
- Design and implementation of Low Level (detailed) Designs, test and acceptance of (new) network infrastructures and tooling
- Participate in international projects
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, HA, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hotfixes and security configurations
- Monitor the performance and ensure the operational readiness and reliability of the system
- Observe the utilization and the capacity management of the system resources
- Work in 2nd / 3rd level support and help with troubleshooting and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major incidents
- Work within the established configuration and change guidelines to ensure that changes to the network infrastructure are known, approved and successful.
- Will select and implement security tools, policies and procedures in collaboration with the company's security team.
- Work with vendors and other IT staff to solve problems.
- Be part of on-call support during non-business hours
Mandatory skills & competencies:
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience of experience as network engineer
- Past experience with Cisco Routing and switching
- Cisco Nexus Spine/Leaf architecture
- VXLAN & eVPN BGP
- F5 Load balancing
- Checkpoint Firewalls (VSX), and Cisco ASA/FTD Firewalls
- Working knowledge of DevOps & IAAC technologies : Network automation, Ansible, Terraform
- Good knowledge of ITIL V4, PCI-DSS standards
- Customer-service oriented attitude
Added advantage:
- OpenSource curiosity/specially in Telemetry, Icinga2, Graylog or other network products
- VMware virtualization and IAAS solutions
- Public Clouds awareness : AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure
Language requirements:
- German – Native speaker
- English business fluent
