For our client based in Berlin we're looking now for an experienced Senior Operations (DevOps) Engineer) for a 100% REMOTE project on a freelance basis.Start: December 2021 or January 2022, 6 Months with an option to extend

About the Role:
As Senior Operations (DevOps) Engineer you will work with members of your multi-functional team on managing cloud infrastructure and operating technology components required to support existing and future business needs using the modern cloud-native technology stack and agile ways of working.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in design, implementation and operational activities supporting the platform
• Ensure that the code and other artifacts are well-structured, understandable and maintainable
• Work collaboratively with your peers, using pair/mob programming, code reviews and other techniques
• Take ownership of platform components that your team is responsible for
• Participate in operational on-call duties and incident management activities
• Define and apply best practices towards infrastructure management and platform operations
• Ensure that the platform is operationally stable and actively work towards improving its resiliency
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and engineering practices
• Mentor and guide more junior members of the team
• Participate in recruitment and onboarding activities
Minimum Requirements:
• Proven commercial experience with cloud technologies (AWS) (5 years)
• Deep knowledge of full software delivery lifecycle (design, development, testing, delivery, operations)
• Deep experience of using and operating distributed computing technologies (NoSQL/SQL data stores, messaging platforms like AWS Kinesis, Kafka or Pulsar, security, performance, resiliency, observability)
• Strong experience of provisioning and managing AWS accounts and services (IAM, VPC, EC2, ALB/ELB, ECS/EKS, S3, SNS, SQS, MKS, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL, RedShift, Route53, CloudFront, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, etc.)
• Strong experience with managing cloud infrastructure as code (CDK, Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong experience with container technologies (Docker+Swarm, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, Nomad, Istio, Envoy, etc.)
• Experience in SRE practices (alerting, troubleshooting, incident management, post-mortems, SLOs, etc.)
• Experience with chaos engineering and improving platform resiliency (Gremlin, Litmus, Chaos Monkey)
• Experience in configuring and operating observability solutions and tools (AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK stack, Prometheus, Jaeger, Zipkin, FluentD, etc.)
• Experience in defining and delivering CI/CD solutions spanning application and infrastructure components, enabling fast and low-risk delivery model, including continuous deployment (CodeBuild+CodePipeline, CodeFresh, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience with system integration protocols and data formats (GRPC/Protocol Buffers, REST/JSON/HTTP, OpenAPI/Swagger, TCP/IP, etc.)
• Fast learner and critical thinker with problem-solving skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in English for both written and verbal communication
• Basic knowledge of German language beneficial
