Role : Linux/Unix L2 (SME)

• Experience: 5-7 Years
• Educational Degree : BE / BTECH
• Skills: Redhat Linux /Unix System Workstation Support and Administration.

Job Description:
The Unix/Linux Role involves senior level troubleshooting / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for areas including, but not limited to:
• Good understanding and working experience with Linux/Unix OS , applications, services and protocols commonly used in hosting the environment.
• Experience with Linux/Unix OS in virtualized environment .
• Ability to build and monitor services on production units.
• Develop, create and virtual /physical desktop golden master images for Linux OS with master hardening and optimization for virtualization
• Unix and Linux Patch preparation of the end user systems.
• Automated system script creation/job running
• Unix and Linux OS Build/imaging, OS upgrades
• Create system backups and file system mangement.
• Taking escalations from L1 teams that they cannot come to resolution on.
Day to day job tasks will include
• Testing and maintaining the Linux/Unix workstation environment.
• Provide support for complex systems & application , rolling out new systems , maintaining, migrating , upgrading, and improving the compliance as per the organization standards.
• Helping team on escalated end user issues
• Working with the team to automate the deployment process
• Keeping the workstation up to date with latest patches and OS
• Maintaining the end user compliance of the Linux/Unix systems.
• Must be able to work on-call as specific and weekends
Roles:
• Desktop application management and deployment
• Recommend and implement application and database solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance
• Providing technical guidance to team and customer
• Provide Tier 3 support
• Server and workstation client management
• Creating and updating technical documentation as required
• Team-oriented and able to operate with minimal supervision
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills
