For our client, a bank in Frankfurt, we are looking for an Interim Manager - Head of IT Operations/ Senior Data Centre Engineer (m/f/d). This is a hybrid role combining management and leadership of the IT team in Frankfurt with senior data centre engineering responsibilities.Responsibilities:
- Central point of contact and accountable for IT activities within the Frankfurt office
- Supporting the business to deliver their IT requirements within the global IT governance structure
- Escalating regional issues to regional CIO or global IT head(s) as appropriate
- Line management of regional IT staff, ensuring clear objectives are set and issues are managed / escalated as appropriate
- Supporting IT teams in the management of regional IT projects to ensure delivery to time, scope and budget
- Ensuring the stability and functional operation of the server infrastructure (physical/virtual) and core services such as Active Directory, virtual environments, file services, e-mail services and other services in TI Operations team remit
- Servicing operational requests, incidents(problem resolution including root cause analysis
- Working as part of a larger global team whilst also operating independently on certain issues such as requests and IT infrastructure related projects.
- Assisting colleagues through knowledge transfer, actively participating in meetings, maintain and contributing to security standards and policies
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Able to complete engineering, architecture and design work, evaluate products, create proposals, conduct testing, write documentation and implement resilient solutions that meet the Banks standards.
- Detailed knowledge of:
- Virtualization platforms (ESXi 6.0 and 6.5)
- Windows Server R2
- Active Directory R2
- Citrix Xen App 7.xx
- Citrix Xen Desktop VDI techn.
- Understanding of Firewall and networking infrastructure
- Exchange
- HP Blade and Rack server platforms
Experience and General Skills:
- Experience of a team leading/ management and delivering high quality operational support ideally in an investment bank or similar financial organisations
- Substantial experience in a senior role performing server Infrastructure support
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, in particular VMware is essential
- Good working knowledge of ITIL with a strong grasp of incident/ change/ problem management
- Excellent team working an d relationship building skills
- Planning and organisational skills
- Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Banking processes and application work flows including end of day processing
- German and English (fluent spoken & written)
