Project background
The client is currently undergoing a separation split into 2 independent companies which also means that their entire IT landscape needs to be separated.
This project will separate all user related processes and services managing identities with their authentication and authorization mechanisms currently depending on company A's into dedicated Company B's services. This is a precondition for B's separation from A and for the migration of applications with central authentication mechanisms. In this context, also the currently shared solution for federation services must be separated into a dedicated solution for B. Any application currently relying on the shared federation solution must be analysed, connected to B's own access management solution in a test environment, tested, and moved to production. Eventually, all applications have left the shared access management infrastructure and B fully relies on its own infrastructure.
The project is already running and is expected to complete by the end of November 2019.
Main Activities + Responsibilities
The tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Propose user management governance, especially with elevated access rights, consult with policy definition
- Assign and clean-up elevated roles following internal policies
- Provide consulting to application managers for onboarding of applications to authenticate against Azure AD
- Coordinate setup and steer issue resolution of MFA and Conditional Access policies
- Organize workshops with architects and developers to support with the design for Azure AD authentication, governance and operational tasks
- Prepare the development and test environment of Azure AD to allow application owners to test the authentication mechanism of Azure AD
- Consult with regard to technical issues and steer issue resolution with application owners and users in case of authentication (and other general Azure AD related) issues
- Communicate to senior management (governance, policies, staffing requirements)

- Experience of working under the pressure and within programs which have a number of dependencies.
