We are currently recruiting for a Security Engineer/Consultant in Reading on a contract basis.The ideal candidate must have at least 5-7 years relevant experience, and will be working as an architect and subject matter expert, within the wider Verizon Cyber Defence team to deliver a range of security related activities within the Customers environment.
You must have technical skills, and developed consulting expertise to be able to lead a project from both of these perspectives. Hands-on experience designing, architecting, building & documenting (HLD, LLD, SDD) security solutions on the below technologies is required. You must have experience using Palo Alto (PAN) firewalls, VPN, IPS F5 (LTM and GTM). Previous experience working within large corporate grade network deployments including hands-on familiarity with routers, switches, WAP, MPLS, etc. is also required. You must have extensive troubleshooting skills.
Your responsibility for this role will be delivery of security related projects from initial high and low level design through build, test and migration phases. SME support to other members of the Verizon project team and preparation of network and security infrastructure documentation using appropriate tools (e.g. MS Visio) You will be supporting the deployment and test of new network and security infrastructure components.
