German Speaking 2nd Line Service Desk Support Engineer
£150 per day/200 Euro's per day - Frankfurt/Berlin, Germany - 2 to 3 months rolling
Coal IT require an experienced German speaking 2nd Line Service Desk Support Engineer/Desktop Support Engineer to come on-board with a market leading financial services company.
You will need to be a self-motivated individual with a very clear understanding of service and service delivery, as you will provide effective support to the company and speak both English and German.
The 2nd Line Service Desk Support Engineer/Desktop Support Engineer should be able to demonstrate a true working knowledge and genuine hands-on experience of working with the technologies listed:
- Windows XP, 7, (building/configuring, installing, setting up and administering Windows 7 computers in a network environment).
- Active Directory/Microsoft Exchange 2010.
- MS Office 2010, most notably Outlook 2010.
- PST's and Email Archiving.
- Blackberry Desktop Server Management.
- Hardware setup (laptops, desktops, IPads, tablets, Blackberries, IPhones, Androids).
- Citrix AMC.
- Familiarisation with infrastructure cabling and patching.
- Basic networking including wireless.
- Audio Visual Systems, Video Conferencing and Audio Conference Bridges.
Duties for the 2nd Line Service Desk Support Engineer/Desktop Support Engineer:
- Providing face to face support as well as over the telephone and email.
- Remotely, troubleshooting Windows PC hardware and software faults.
- Administering network user rights and permissions.
- Citrix knowledge including Management Console.
- Take responsibility for maintaining IT equipment's Inventory database.
- Monitor and report licence status for all IT equipment.
- Supporting MS Office 2010, Exchange 2007 and Active Directory.
- Install, set up and administer Windows 7 computers in a network environment as well as providing network support and administration.
- Acting as the local intelligent hands' in support of other support operations.
- Assistance with the establishment of audio and video conferences.
- Advising on personal devices and their use in the office.
Experience required for the 2nd Line Service Desk Support Engineer/Desktop Support Engineer:
- Demonstrable technical experience in supporting desktop hardware and software.
- Demonstrable understanding of Microsoft operating system environments (including Office 2010 and Windows 7).
- Good awareness of the licensing requirements for hardware and software.
- Understanding of the importance of IMDB to the business.
- Sound problem solving and innovative analytical skills.
- Familiarisation with ITIL practices.
- Small project engagement (office re-organisation/moves).
- Self-motivated and pro-active approach.
- Ability and willingness to participate in a flexible/multi-skilled team.
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written business English, excellent interpersonal speaking and listening.
