Senior Implementation Manager
Leading provider of communication solutions for Railways.
We offer in cooperation with partners in the overall solution for our customers. This is designed by our top experts and integrated as part of a migration and rollout project in the existing GSM-R customer's countryside.
Tasks
As Implementation Manager (IM), you have a responsibility to support the overall project manager and the Project leader for the active job modern management of the project and the subprojects. You are responsible to define all procedural and technical measures and implement in order to meet the quality, cost targets and schedules for goods and services defined. They must define and implement implementation and migration processes as well as improvement and optimization processes. As the project partners and subcontractors is handled, you are responsible for ensuring that all technical and operational standards, processes and procedures are defined and adhered to. They form the operational-technical interface both to our partners and to the correspondents of the customer.
Than in they are responsible:
- For the definition and implementation of telecommunication expansions and migrations to RAN Netzelemnten
- Development of necessary processes and procedures for implementation and migration and their coordination with the customer
- Definition of project-wide objectives and requirements of the RAN Implementation and Migration
- All operational and technical measures for planning preparation, site surveys, installation, commissioning, integration and acceptance of GSM-R network elements
- Support and guidance from partners and subcontractors
- Identify the needs of technical personnel, their training activities as those of partners, constant monitoring of the quality and effectiveness of the measures over the project period
- Supporting regional IM
- Review and track the performance of partners and subcontractors and control their delivery of quality and safe performance
- Co-operation and communication with the client, network operators and partners in all technical and operational matters in the daily business
Requirements
- Several years experience in a similar function, preferably as chief engineer, project manager or project controller
- experience in rail domain, radio communications, transmission equipment, construction, rollout, migration (SWAP) of wireless networks
- experience with GSM-R specific requirements or in the railway sector in the German-speaking countries
- General product knowledge of the GSM-R system technology, the antenna system and power supply, preferably the supplier Huawei, Nortel or NSN
- Very good technical understanding, foresight and problem solving skills
- master's degree, MBA or equivalent
- Optional: PMI, IPMA or similar project management certification
- structured approach and pragmatic, solution-oriented action
- assertiveness and strong conceptual and analytical thinking
- Independent, autonomous operation, coupled with team spirit and enthusiasm
- ability to motivate and persuasiveness
- Very good communication and organizational skills
- Very good German and English skills in speaking and writing
- experience with preparation and implementation of training and certifications
- At least 5 -7 years experience in managing projects in the telecommunications sector and/or the railway sector
