Overview:The Core Network Administrator acts as Subject Matter Expert for operations requiring technical added value on the core network when addressing changes to the network, as well as ensuring data integrity. They are responsible towards the Support Manager for the efficiency and quality of the Network Operation Centre (NOC).

Position Description:
Roles & Responsibilities:
Core Network Administrator is responsible for delivering against the following roles and responsibilities:
• Manage the configuration of network infrastructure & alarms through the issue of work orders and the preparation, testing and execution of data commands on operational elements.
• Respond to service configuration requests which are not handled directly by the service provisioning or customer care processes.
• Identification of pending capacity expiry, management of ‘hot spots’ & core network waiters.
• Administration & recording of the logical & physical network.
• Commission, acceptance, configuration and recording of new network equipment installations.
Skills & Knowledge:
The Core Network Administrator has a strong understanding of:
• Detailed knowledge of network infrastructure, across technology domains
• Experience in prioritizes time allocation against critical tasks
• Subject matter expertise in core network requirements associated with configuration and records / parameter management
• A constantly changing environment and is able to relate impacting issues and risks to customer, understanding their business implications.
• Working in a multi-customer, multi-vendor, multi-technology environment
