Aufgabe:Role
- Principal Consultants at Cisco are typically involved in high-touch technical consulting roles. Every Principal Consultant demonstrates deep technical capability, together with the ability to fully understand all aspects of a customer’s technical and business environment
Responsibilities
Technical
- Expert level knowledge in ACI
- Service-Provider technologies (MPLS, L3/L2 VPN, IGPs, Segment Routing, Multicast etc.)
- Multi-vendor environment (Nokia, German Crypto Vendors)- GETVPN and other VPN Technologies
- Automation (NETCONF/YANG, NSO, etc.)
- IOS, IOS-XE and IOS-XR
- Expert level knowledge TWO of the following and strong knowledge in all other areas of: 7600, Core Routing (MPLS), GSR, QOS, IP Routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), IP internetworking, LAN Switching, ATM & Voice technologies, Testing, IP Telephony, Wireless, DSL, Mobility, Network Management, WAN protocols (Frame Relay, ISDN), Leading edge technology design skills
Business
- Performs analysis and diagnosis of most complex networking problems.
- Performs analysis of most complex network designs.-- Builds simulated networks in test labs to resolve most complex problems and compatibility issues
- Sets strategic and technical direction for Advanced Services best practices and functional roles.
- Provides highest-level crisis management.
- Acts as the technical specialist for the most complex deployments.
- May act in a technical team leadership capacity
- Identifies skills and business shortfalls and establishes programs to address them
- Ability to sell / present to customers and partners the value of Advanced Services.
- Collaborates proactively with other NCE’s to ensure optimal use of resources to meet customer needs (i.e., SmartSourcing).
- Contribute to customers knowledge through the delivery of Knowledge Transfer Sessions
- Strong working experience in large Service Providers and Enterprise network Environments.
- Should have demonstrated exceptional Client facing/interaction skills with project management and technical execution
- Strong business acumen. Ability to fully understand a customer's overall technical and business needs
- Expertise in business case analysis, executive summaries etc and ability to develop and deliver executive presentations
- Ability to identify and articulate new business opportunities
- 3+ years in a leadership role
Transactional Projects
Project Consulting role:
- Generates engineering project documentation including detailed test plan for most complex networks.
- Generates network configurations from Low Level Design for most complex networks.
- Supports pre-sales activity for most complex networks.
- Plans and executes most complex Network Upgrade and Network Migration activity.
- Executes all phases of project delivery including network staging, implementation and handover.
- Plans and executes complex Network Upgrade and Network Migration activity.
- Where appropriate, supervises and mentors partner delivery teams and less experience engineers (on-site).
- Leads design workshop
Proactive Service & Support:
- Able to take lead role in working with clients, Account Team and Cisco resources on developing a strategy and the deployment of complex services and required Network Support Systems
- Assists customer with deployment and strategy of most complex services and related Network Management Systems
- Trains/Mentors others and Leads design workshop.
Reactive Service & Support:
- Assures that the most complex customer (s) network problems across a broad range of technologies – as necessary for any client - are properly and quickly resolved.
- Acts as focal point for most complex network problem resolution.
Advanced Services Technology Specialization Teams:
- Writes technical white papers for new technologies supported by Advanced Services.
- Develop network design & network architecture best practices for Advanced Services.
-Significant contribution towards team collaboration, mentoring & coaching
- Work on business initiatives, processes and focus on continues improvement
- Be recognized as SME for the development and delivery of Knowledge Transfer sessions
Anforderung:
Required Skills:
- CCIE written and lab and one Advanced Technology Specialisation
- Expert level knowledge in (2) of the following and strong knowledge in all other areas of: IP internetworking LAN Switching, ATM & Voice technologies, IP Telephony, SAN, CDN, Optical, Wireless, IPCC. WAN protocols (Frame Relay, ISDN). IP Routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Knowledgeable of Advanced Services Program model deliverables and expectations. Be able to articulate value-add to Customer.
- Leading edge technology design assistance for primary accounts.
- Cross-functional contribution and impact with development engineering on product development and serviceability design.
- Excellent consulting and communication skills
Experience:
- Typically requires BS, CS, University degree or equivalent plus 8+ years experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
Type and Size of Projects:
- Leads and works on projects that are strategic, of high visibility, and involve most complex emerging technologies and solutions integration.
Accountability:
- Accountable to highest levels of senior management to ensure project commitments and deliverables are met. Recommends and initiates projects to benefit cross group and Cisco wide objectives
Interface & Communication:
- Leads others in a team environment to achieve common goals. Provides business & technical consulting expertise to customers & internal resources.
- Anticipates issues/challenges associated with area of expertise (technology, industry, or application) and develops proactive solutions.
