Security Architect/Engineer - POC/Checkpoint/ASA - Germany - Long 12mth- 2 year contract
The Security Architect/Engineer will be responsible for reviewing, designing, implementing and supporting solutions according to appropriate security practices, Policies, Procedures and Security Architecture.
Key duties will be the review of solutions to ensure compliance, and the implementation and support of solutions on the roadmap of the security infrastructure, including conducting product evaluations, proofs-of-concept, pilots and deployments while enabling the business to meet the requirements of the information security technology architecture, strategy and baseline.
You be required to work on proof of concept's for fine design and even implementation (advice or hands on) testing and documentation for customers.
These PoC's are mainly CheckPoint (specially vSec), complete Fortigate portfolio, Cisco (ASA/Firepower), PaloAlto potfolio, Algosec (AFA & Business Flow) for FW optimization projects and Zscaler.
But it's not limited to the products listed above
You would be a really good fit if you have
- Experience of the design and implementation of database security solutions such as encryption, Key Management Interoperability Protocol, data tokenization and masking, database Firewalls and database monitoring
- Experience of the implementation of multi-factor authentication for applications
- Experience of web server and web application security and remediation, and of Web Application Firewalls.
- Experience of implementing security controls in Microsoft Active Directory and Office 365 services.
- Experience of implementing security controls in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure cloud services
- Good understanding of Routing & Switching/Configurations
- Experience of the implementation and deployment of Privileged Account Management and just-in-time admin rights products.
- Experience or working knowledge of penetration testing methods
- A proven ability to interface across a global organization with other teams, such as Engineering and Security, Corporate Applications, Enterprise Applications, Internal Audit, agency CIOs, agency compliance coordinators, etc.
- An analytical demeanor and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals across all levels the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities while multitasking effectively
- Working knowledge of compliance frameworks and security management standards (eg, ISO 27001, COBIT, NIST CSF)
- Working knowledge of best practices/standards (eg, PCI DSS, HIPAA, State data breach laws) for implementing application-level data encryption.
Further desirable qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security and Risk Management, Information Systems, Engineering or related major
- German language desirable but not essential (although this would certainly help)
- CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCNA, CCENT, GSEC, or MCSA certification required
- 12 years' progressive experience working in Information Technology with at least half of that directly in Information Security
- Minimum 7 years' experience in an engineer role with experience in delivering security projects
