My client is looking for a freelance SW engineer to work with Elecrto-optiocal Warefare Algorithms.
The candidate will be responsible for the software development over the entire life cycle and for the algorithm development for Electro-optical electronic warfare systems consisting of missile warning sensors, Laser warning sensors and self-protection systems for air, sea and land-based platforms.
Your Tasks
Their range of tasks covers the entire software development cycle: from conception to specification, implementation, documentation, testing and maintenance.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Specification, design and development of software for Embedded systems, accompanying the development of the requirements analysis on the creation of the software architecture and programming
- Implementation of hardware/software integration in collaboration with hardware and operating system development
- Verification and validation of the created software, creation of test procedures and documentation of the results
- Development of PC programs for test applications
- Customer care regarding questions about system functionality and software maintenance
- Close collaboration with the System Engineering department to define requirements for system functionality, system design and system verification
Your Profile
- Completed engineering or computer science studies or comparable
- Experience in software development for Embedded systems, in hardware-related software development and possibly in Real Time programming
- Experience in requirements analysis and software modelling
- Very good knowledge of the programming languages C/C ++
- Very good knowledge of communication in networks, via serial interfaces and bus systems (eg CAN bus)
- Knowledge of requirements management software (eg Requisite Pro, Rational DOORS)
- Knowledge of handling Real Time operating systems (eg VxWorks) would be an advantage
- Experience in the development of PC programs for test applications (eg with LabVIEW) would be an advantage
- Knowledge of configuration management and process models
- Analytical and structured way of working
- Very good communication skills, teamwork skills and social skills
- Fluent in English and German
