For our customer in North Rhine-Westphalia we're looking for a Senior System Engineer for Server-based Computing and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (m/f).
Your Tasks:
- Consulting in the area of "Server Based Computing Infrastructure", "Desktop Virtualization Engineering" and "3rd Level Operations"
- Involvement in design and implementation of Citrix & VDI infrastructure projects
- Advise in choosing the right virtualization technology for the right user
- System Configuration & tuning of Citrix & VDI environments
- 3rd level support (troubleshooting, incident and change management)
- Prepare and execute planned maintenances & upgrades (security patching, operating system and tooling upgrades)
- Develop and maintain operational and technical documentation
- Drive knowledge transfer to 1st and 2nd level support teams
- Insure security and audit guidelines are correctly implemented
- Create, test and maintain service recovery procedures and plans
Your Profile:
- Hands-on experience with Citrix technologies: XenApp, XenDesktop & Netscaler in an enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience in Windows Server configuration and administration
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- Experience with Windows 7 & Windows 10
- Experience with VMWare ESX & vCenter
- Knowledge of Appsense
- Good understanding of network engineering and security principles
- Scripting skills, by preference with Powershell
- Technical writing skills (experience in writing proper documentation according to internal regulations)
- Excellent customer service skills, including end-user support experience
- Able to work in a global team and in a multi-cultural environment
- ITIL knowledge is recommended
- Fluent in German and English
