Technical Project Manager - VMWare
For one of my globally leading technical clients I am urgently looking for a Technical Project Manager with extensive VMWare expertise to work full time on site in Germany for an initial 3 -6 month contract (with likely extensions)
The successful Technical Project Manager will have good experience with:
- VMware ESX
- Vsphere 4.1, 5.1/5.5, 6.0, Vcenter 6.0 installation, hosts upgrade and migration etc
- Windows, Datacentre, Servers & Clusters experience including latest versions.
- Infrastructure
- And be certified in at least one of the following: VMware VCP, ITIL, PRINCE2, TOGAF Enterprise Architecture.
Nice to have skills would be:
- Citrix/XenServer/XenDesktop
Summary:
- My client is migrating their existing clients as a managed service from their current BGU to a new DCC E1 datacenter.
- It is essential to ensure that all AVC migrations do not cause any performance degradation to the users
o AVC pooled (VDI)
o RAPPS Shared pool
o Dedicated Clients
- Coordinate and document performance testing for all applications
- Document evidence of performance testing for all applications used by the relevant users (eg printing, File shares and shared applications)
- Application UAT performed for core applications
- Coordinate global users migration of services (ensure that service disruption due to IP address/location changes is avoided eg coordinate Firewall changes)
- Ensure user communication of downtime and migrations are arranged via email/client internal comms
Act as Project Manager for regular interface with DCC PM and AMOS Managed Service Migration PM.
Interaction with testing team and associated teams.
