My client is looking for a system engineer to join them for a long term contract working within their Big Data environment.
The idea candidate will have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Administration of physical and virtual Solaris and Linux Servers
- Knowledge of Linux Clustering products eg Pacemaker
- 3rd level support for Incidents & Problems
Installation and configuration of Apache Hadoop ecosystem components
- HDFS, IBM GPFS
- Yarn
- Kafka
- Spark
- Impala
Managing Big Data Environments running on a Cloudera Software Stack
Integration of new technologies (Docker, Mesos)
Patch and life cycle management of Cloudera environments
Performance tuning and troubleshooting of Big Data environments
Automated deployments of infrastructure and application environments using continuous integration tools (Ansible & xCAT)
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (RHV)
Supporting High Performance Computing Cluster based on IBM Symphony
Evaluating and implement technical requests in respect to customer needs within infrastructure standards
Knowledge of the following IT tools: HP Service Manager, HP Server Automation, Command (C6000), Monitoring Cockpit, Sharepoint, Microsoft Office
