Location: Germany (Travel in country 100%) Languages: German & (English advantagious)
Technician Responsibility
- Reports into the Lead Engineer/Deployment Manager (m/w) responsible for the site.
- Responsible for assigned deployment resource, ensuring build standards, site compliance and Health and Safety are adhered to.
- Produce and provide daily progress updates / reports to project team as per the agreed process
- point of contact for all site related activities
- Understand and communicate the Design Pack (EDP/DDP) to the T2's /wire-techs
- Manage the equipment and cabling installations accuracy and quality
- Ensuring all installations are carried out as per build standards and specification
- Manage and complete Hardware integration testing and connectivity
- Manage and complete First Modem Provisioning, testing installed hardware for connectivity and throughput with Cable Modem
- Manage and complete broadband customer migrations and re-segmentations of DOCSIS, Video on demand and CATV TV services on HFC
equipment
- Manage logical and physical equipment recovery
- Rack/Stack and Wire of CMTS to HFC equipment
- RF forward and return path combining, installation and commissioning.
- Optical transmitter and receiver, installation and commissioning.
- RF balancing of Narrow Cast and Broadcast services
- Fibre optic installation, testing, recording and handling practices.
Key Skills & Abilities
- CATV/Broadband Headend build, fix and maintain
- Hybrid Fibre Coax (HFC) network build, fix and maintain
- Network engineering in Telecoms environment
- TV Transmission/Broadcast and Forward and Return Path RF commissioning and installation
- Use of Test Equipment including fibre scope, RF signal generator and spectrum analyzer measuring Digital QAM.
- Fault finding RF based systems, Broadcast and Narrowcast services
- Team leadership
- SCTE Technical certification (Desirable)
- College or university graduate (Desirable) - Microsoft office suit
Essential Experience
- DOCSIS1, DOCSIS3 Technologies installation, commission and test
- Cable TV Headend. Video on Demand, Narrow cast
- RF combining and distribution
- Fibre optics installation, commission and test
- RF in a CATV environment, commission and test
- Broadcast
- Networking, CAT5 and Optical, commission and test
- Coaxial Cabling
- RF Amplifier commission and test
