Task:- Targeted suppliers reach a maturity level in line with customer Strategy, through the implementation and follow up of strategic Supplier Development Projects.
- Tactical improvements are carried out, in order to secure or improve shortcomings for a given supplier
- Assessments of identified suppliers (IPCA+, PMCA, CCP, …) are performed in order to support the MFT.
- (for CIS , BL/commodities focal point) Create and maintain a communication channel with the Business Line/commodity to foster the partnership with the Business line, help identifying as a referent within the relevant MFTs areas for Supplier Development, flow down Key business information and opportunities to TOPD team members.
The core activity of the Supplier Development Manager is to conduct Strategic Development, through long term development plan:
- Following the overall procurement strategy at customer level
- Breaking monosourcing situations
- Bringing the chosen supplier to a specific maturity level
- Introducing a continuous improvement mindset
- Strengthening the relationship the supplier, fostering a partnership approach
- Creating a strategic fit through a win-win situation.
Additionally and depending on the business needs, the Jobholder can also be entitled to perform Tactical Improvements, carrying out actions securing or improving shortcomings for a given supplier.
Containment or troubleshooting (“firefighting”) shall not be considered as part of the Jobholder activities, but a potential involvement might have to be considered on a case by case basis.
The Job Holder is tasked with performing supplier development activities/projects at suppliers to increase their maturity (industrial, project management capabilities) and therefore improve their performance, in line with customers’s strategy and the business needs, protecting and improving customer operation.
Requirements:
University degree in engineering
