Datacenter Technician/Engineer
This opportunity is for a large European institution which maintains an infrastructure across 3 sites in mainland Europe, this particular request sits in their Munich offices. We currently run several teams on behalf of the client and are looking for an experienced Datacenter Technician/Engineer contract resource to complement the existing Op's Datacentre team.
Operational Tasks
- Respond to networking issues in the building
- Support end users in connectivity issues
- Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and troubleshooting issues within a multi-cultural environment
- Attend to cabling and datacenter type incidents whenever they arise.
1st Line Support Tasks
- Processing of support processes. Maintaining end user network connectivity, cabling duties and local office infrastructure support.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Experience with an SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) provider would be advantageous.
- CAT 5/6 Cabling experience. Patching and cable tracing.
- Wireless signal tracing and AP troubleshooting.
- Understanding of fundamental Router/switch functionality (Juniper & Cisco)
- Strong analytical, organizational skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong awareness of political and escalation paths and how to maintain relationships with SMTs and Analysts alike.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Operational Datacenter qualifications desirable (cable management, networking basics, CompTIA+, etc).
- Any additional Datacenter Qualifications would be advantageous to the candidate.
- Ability to converse in German language (C2/B1 Level)
- Ability to converse in English language (B1/B2 Level)
