For our client out of the banking sector, I am currently looking for a UNIX specialist (m/f).Project Description:
The role is about support stabilization and reduce risk in production availability.
The Database Hosting Service is forming a team to govern production operations of a platform.
We are searching for a candidate who is proficient within a UNIX (Solaris) and Linux (SLES, RHEL) environment.
Responsibilities:
Our client is looking for a good communicator and a problem-solving individual. Responsibility will encompass both operational governance of the UNIX estate, system maintenance (patching), and storage management work where necessary.
Experience / Requirements:
- Experience with Linux (SLES, OEL or RHEL) and Unix (Solaris)
- Experience with systems administration: upgrades, patching and configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis and capacity planning
- Experience with Symantec Veritas products (VCS and Volume management) on Solaris
- Experience of working with EMC SRDF storage on Solaris and LINUX, with skill set to cover other storage technologies
- Strong skills in TCP/IP Networking & advanced systems tuning, network topology and firewalled environments
- Full understanding the principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layout, Ethernet, bonding, PCIe Technologies
- Experience installing layered products in a timely fashion, analyzing & troubleshooting complex systems and familiarity with ITSM procedures.
- Strong problem solving skills with ability to work in a highly pressurized multitask Environment
- Experience in Perl and Shell scripting writing scripts to automate various tasks.
