L2 EUS Network Engineer
L2 EUS Network Engineer urgently required for interesting contract in Germany
2 month rolling contract based in Campus Kronberg, Germany
The L2 EUS Network Engineer will be Responsible for the following:
- You will be required to oversee the installation team's work under the guidance of the project manager.
- This includes Servers, end user devices, and other peripheral hardware including printers and audio-visual equipment.
- Take ownership and responsibility of queries, issues and problems assigned to the Desktop Support Administrator
- Responsible for tracking hardware and software inventory
- Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues within the desktop environment
- Understand As-Is landscape and provide day-to-day onsite support as per the plan from Project Manager.
- The ability to work to a plan, communicate effectively, self-manage, and be proactive - is essential
The L2 EUS Network Engineer will ideally have the following skills and expertise:
. Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot XP, Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 and any other authorized desktop applications.
. Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for printers, computer hardware and any other authorized peripheral equipment.
. Customize desktop hardware to meet user specifications and site standards
. Responsible for monitoring, operating, managing, troubleshooting and restoring to service any terminal service client, personal computers (PC) or notebooks that has authorized access to the network
. Dealing with hardware and application support queries and issues reported to the support desk and escalated to the Desktop Support Administrator
. Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity, and Workstation hardware/software.
. Develop sound understanding of IT operations and related applications and IT systems as well as business related processes and procedures
. Installation & Maintenance of LAN, Network Switches and Router in the network rack.
. Should have Knowledge to provide backup support and assistance to the Network Administrator as needed.
. Should have knowledge on TCP/IP, SMTP, POP, Full duplex and half duplex, SMPS, Static IP, Dynamic IP, and FTP.
. Providing Technical support/Troubleshooting User Queries.
. Support the following technologies: Microsoft Office 2007 products Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer, Windows 7, desktops, laptops, printers, networked copiers, NICs, basic LAN/WAN connectivity and others as assigned.
. Maintain overall ownership of users issue & service ensuring that they receive resolution within a reasonable timeframe
. Responds to telephone calls, email, instant messages of users
. Record incident resolutions in the Help Desk tool
. Installation and troubleshooting of software, In-house Applications.
. Understanding business requirements
. Assessment of As-Is Network Diagrams and verification as per the layout diagrams
. Testing of network setup as per the test plan.
. Setup the infrastructure to test the ability of various devices
. Produce Test results and recommendations
. Strong written and spoken communication
. Good understanding of ITIL framework
. Microsoft certified Technology specialist.
. Microsoft Desktop Support Technician an advantage or A+ and N+ experience
