Senior IT Infrastructure Architect currently needed on behalf of our client based in Berlin.
All applicants should have proven experience in the following areas:
Designing and planning IT infrastructure in corporate environments (ideally banking and microfinance) taking into account the following:
Disaster Recovery & Business continuity
Virtualization on-remise and co-location environments
Planning and selection of hosting models (on-prem., colocation, cloud, hybrid)
High Availability based environments
Backups and archiving
UAT, staging and production environments
Patch management
Configuration change management
Defining plans for performing stress testing during software acquisition and later on for subsequent upgrades/patch rollouts using:
Peak hour and spike projections
Transaction per Second (TPS). software vendor will assure through that hardware
Throughput based on mix of products;
Stubs requirements simulating actual behavior from an integrated system or access channel in terms of Turn Around Time (TAT)
Access channel testing methods for USSD/SMS
Defining hardware and solutions for monitoring through standardized monitoring tool like HP OV, Solarwinds, etc.
Networks Security through Firewalls and DMZ's taking into perspective access channels (USSD/SMS/App/Internet) and external integrations/interfaces
Standardize Hardware, OS, App, Web, Security, Firewall, Load balancers, DB Servers, etc. with long term view in mind ensuring capability to support both horizontal and vertical expansion
Define policies, standard operating procedures for overall Infrastructure maintenance, management of hardware, backups/archiving, monitoring, DRs, etc.
Main expected deliverables:
Standardized IT infrastructure designs and layouts for different company entities taking into account complexities of existing local environments as well as business needs for availability and disaster recovery;
IT infrastructure disaster recovery plans;
Stress testing approach, diagrams and plans;
Implementation plans for centralized monitoring;
Standardized Hardware, Software, Licensing recommendations and bills of materials for IT Infrastructure setup;
Quality assurance and supervision of implementation of designs and plans defined
Required skills and qualifications:
5 or more years of proven expertise in same or similar position in the areas described
Relevant in experience in banking sector or microfinance would be a benefit
Fluency in English
Experience working and coordinating work of others internationally
Ability and willingness to travel to Sub-Saharan Africa
