Beschreibung

The Transition and Transformation Lead Architect is responsible for the technical integration aspects of the transition from the incumbent (mainly India-based) outsourcer to the new international outsourcer, working closely with transition architects from the new outsourcer, identifying and helping to manage risks in the introduction of new tools and technologies. Where there are also Transformation elements in the area of scope, the T&T Lead Architect is responsible for assuring their design and its integration with the rest of the existing infrastructure .

The responsibilities will include:

  • Understand and approve new outsourcer's tools and technology and network connections to client environment

  • Define technically lowest-risk approaches to transition

  • Review/edit testing approach for new tools and technologies

  • Support capacity modelling for new tools and technologies including impact on existing infrastructure

  • Where transition is in phases, advise transition managers on

    • how phases are defined (eg by user type, geography)

    • interim interfaces if required while both outsourcers are active

  • For Transformations

    • Review and approve new outsourcer's designs for to-be IT infrastructure

    • Ensure documentation of to-be architecture meets internal standards and is integrated and stored with existing documentation

SCOPE

Transition

  • Server operations (2 global DCs and 2 regional DCs with >95% Servers virtualised Windows/Linux, plus approximately 40 sites with some local Servers)

  • Storage and backup operations (3PAR SAN in DCs, Netapp filers in 90 sites, local backup replicating to regional and global centres)

  • LAN operations (data centres as above plus 300 sites of various sizes)

  • WAN operations (combination of provider-managed MPLS and SSL VPNs over Internet connections)

  • Workplace systems (28,000 Windows7 desktops and laptops, Citrix farm for 9,000 users, AD2008->2016, file and print)

  • Groupware operations (mainly Office365)

  • Telephony systems (variety of local PBXs, some Avaya IP Telephony)

  • Service desk (Telephony, IVR- mainly outsourcer responsibility)

  • Application operations (SAP, engineering, maintenance, other various)

Transformation

  • Implementation of replacement backup technology in DCs only

  • Move WAN to fully managed service by incoming outsourcer

  • Implementation of new cloud brokerage platform

  • Implementation of VMWare orchestration layer & integration with current global DCs

  • Replacement of Remedy with ServiceNow

Skills required

  • Infrastructure Architecture
  • IT infrastructure tools such as monitoring, backup, storage management, network management
  • Detailed knowledge of some or all of the following an advantage: Zabbix, Nagios, Splunk, MPLS, DMVPN, zScaler, HP DataProtector, IBM SpectrumProtect, IPSoft toolset, VMWare vSphere, vRealise, Cisco IP Telephony, Office 365, Active Directory

Experience

  • Infrastructure architect role in large scale (nn,000 users, >2 continents) environment
  • IT outsourcing transitions (in, out, or between outsourcers)

3 month initial assignment with scope for 12-18 months overall. Expect majority of time to be spent in Berlin, so German nationals welcomed as applicants.
