Task:You will be part of the International Advanced Analytics Team, currently consisting of 25 specialists. You will work directly with project managers, data scientists as well as other data and platform engineers
- Your responsibilities will include overseeing and assisting with major project initiatives, as well as providing support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft Windows servers in development, QA and production environments. You will be entrusted with the tasks of further developing the advanced analytics platform and monitoring its health, as well as providing capacity management. As such, this position requires good knowledge of the RHEL 6.x and 7.x operating systems, very good troubleshooting skills, capacity and performance experience, as well as reporting and monitoring skills. You also display a natural instinct for innovation and pragmatic ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking.
Requirements (Must have):
- Experience in Linux administration and operations (RHEL)
- Experience in operating at least one major RDBMS (Oracle, MariaDB, MySQL, etc.)
- Experience in operations and troubleshooting in JVM-based production environments (Java based distributed technologies),
- Strong scripting skills e.g. Bash, POSIX Shell and Python
- Experience in at least three of the following specialist skills/ areas:
o Platform provisioning strategies and tools,
o Cloud technologies,
o Infrastructure as Code (Puppet / Ansible / Chef / Salt),
o Continuous delivery, tests, code scans,
o Data security and privacy (privacy-preserving data mining, data security, data encryption).
- Understanding Java and/or Scala code for assisting in bug fixing,
- Ideally, you are experienced with the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Yarn, Flume, Storm, Sqoop, MapReduce etcetera),
- Experience with Agile/Scrum
- You speak and write English fluently
