Senior Big Data Engineer

We are currently recruiting for our client, startup company focused on Big Data, Analytics and Data-Driven Product design, to join their team in Germany.

As a Data Engineer, you work in a team of young, enthusiastic employees, with several years of professional experience in the field of information Management. The client is working on several Interesting Big Data projects with great clients in Germany, mostly in the Munich area.

Responsibilities:
- Competent handling of data, algorithms, numbers and facts.
- Database, Hadoop, NoSQL, Kafka, ETL or Web service development.
- Dim data modeling, Data Warehouse, and DataVault.
- Independent, result-oriented solving of problems.
- Daily handling of agile project methods (for example, SCRUM, Kanban).
- Massive parallelization, batch and stream processing.
- Design and develop Lambda-Kappa architecture.
- Software development and machine learning.
- Design and develop Real-time Data-Driven products.

Qualifications/Skills Required:
- 2-3 years experience in the Big Data area
- Very good knowledge of distributed data processing systems, universal Databases and their current technologies.

Safe handling of at least four of the following technologies:
- Hadoop technologies (Cloudera, MapReduce)
- Elastic Search or Solr
- Apache Spark
- Apache Kafka
- Data format such as Avro, Parquet, Hive, JSON
- Java development (Spring, JEE) incl. Web technologies and WebServices (REST, SOAP)
- Machine learning

Desirable:
- SQL, PL / SQL, and relational DBMS (such as Oracle, Postgre SQL) ETL and Data integration
- NoSQL DBMS (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j) Reporting, Visualization and analytics (e.g., D3, R, Spark MLLib)
- Web technologies - cloud infrastructure (e.g., Amazon Web Services)
- Other platforms such as Oracle (Warehouse Builder, Data Integrator, Business Intelligence), Talend
- IBM Cognos, Tableau, Qlik
- Studies (Bachelor / Master) in Computer Science, or equivalent qualification
- Good knowledge of German and English spoken and written
