Network Support Engineer - Berlin
Our client a global brand based in Berlin, Germany (Deutschland) have an immediate contract opportunity for a Network Support Engineer with experience of some of the below technologies.
- Cisco Routers, Switches and compute, VMWARE, Windows platforms (desktop and server), EMC storage arrays, Office 365
- MPLS, QoS, DMVPN, Wi-Fi, WAN, LAN, VPN, TCP./IP, L3/L2 switching, DNS and DHCP
- F5 Big IP load balancer
- Citrix applications
- CCNA/CCNP, MTA/MCSA preferred but not required
English and German Language skills is Mandatory as is travel between Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Franfurt and from time to time.
Scope:
Network and Desktop support and project engineer who helps define the scope of projects and can lead the design, implementation, and support of complex, enterprise wide network solutions including: network infrastructure, windows server/desktop OS and Citrix based application configuration.
Duties
Manage wide area network and desktops in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Frankfurt
Assist with infrastructure projects or issues in our Frankfurt co-location
Build and manage a resilient and secure infrastructure for our application and production platform (SaaS).
Scale infrastructure to meet increasing demand, optimize performance and improve resilience and costs.
Clearly define and troubleshoot issues that may arise across network, infrastructure or desktops in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich or Frankfurt
Gather requirements for future business initiatives. Ensure that designs meet enterprise standards, are scalable, cost effective, and partner with US team to implement
Conduct stress, high availability and proof of concept tests
Conduct regular audits of the network and desktops to ensure compliance to standards
Expertise
Knowledge of WAN designs, infrastructure, Desktop/server OS
4 years of work experience in network and or desktop system administration and supporting WAN based designs
Experience implementing and troubleshooting MPLS, WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi environments.
Eexperience implementing and troubleshooting desktop and server WINDOWS OS issues
Experience implementing/troubleshooting storage and compute troubles
Scripting skills
