Bootloader Test Engineer
Bootloader and STB Middleware testing for end customer's Legacy CPE Hardware. Knowledge of bootloader testing with all of the different flavors of triggering software downloads and updates within the different broadcast environments (DiSEqC, SATCR, JESS; Cable). Being familiar with SoC vendor equipment needed for debugging bootloader logs.
Key Duties
Bootloader testing and support of general STB/CPE testing activities in the wider team.
Experience
Knowledge of DVB broadcasting, IP Networking.
Testing methodologies.
Bootstrap testing
Memory bank(s) testing
Code version testing
Code download and recovery.
Code corruption and recovery.
Forced memory image corruption and recovery.
Code download mechanism tests - these will include forced download mechanisms, emergency download mechanisms, scheduled download mechanisms etc.
Blacklisting mechanisms - forced, emergency etc.
Signal loss and recovery mechanisms
Being familiar to generate, modify and playout SW download carousels with different signalization methods
Familiar with debug and DVB playout tools
Understand technical bootloader specifications and will create/modify positive/negative bootloader test cases
Working as manual tester using test management tools (HP ALM) and defect management tools (JIRA)
Need to be available at the end of Fed 2017.
