We are currently looking for a QM/Software Test Automation Engineer, if possible with a good understanding of big data solutions (Hadoop, Cloudera). The individual should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms and architectures, diverse technologies and lab environments. The individual will work closely with developers, project managers, engineers and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC, executing test iterations, tracking/reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution. The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes and the QA life cycle and methodology.
Responsibility
- Interact with project management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives
- Ingest, understand, and apply all relevant policies relating to QM activities
- Create test strategies, test plans, and test cases
- Design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases
- Develop and lead the test automation strategy/effort
- Build the test automation capabilities, considering continuous integration/delivery paradigms
- Use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validation function
- Execute (automated) tests and analyse the test results
- Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
- Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate
- Support production deployment of applications and perform validation testing
Must Have:
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in quality assurance and/or testing roles
- Good understanding of Big Data environments on a technical and conceptual level
- Advance skill in one or more Scripting languages (Perl, Shell, JavaScript, python, etc.)
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- At least 3 years of experience in an enterprise organisations
- Flexibility and ability to work within an internationally distributed team
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Optional but advantaging:
- Experience testing data integration, high volume data streaming, and message queue workflows and workloads, including tools like Apache Kafka and Spark
- Experience testing on Hadoop (Cloudera) platform, including writing and executing queries to analyse data
- ISTQB Advanced Certified tester as test analyst/technical test analyst
- Understanding security and security policies
- Experiences with HP-ALM (advance user)
Every Testing experience within Big Data is VERY helpful. Hadoop and Couldera are the main technologies to mention. HP ALM is the testing tool .
