NetBackup (NBU) architecture (including compliance architectures) and functionality of all application components such as Master Servers, Media Servers, Clients, daemons, robotic control, etc.* NetBackup installation and configuration
* Experience in modifying the NetBackup application to meet business requirements
* Splitting and merging NetBackup Catalogs
* Upgrading the NetBackup application
* Excellent NetBackup analytical and troubleshooting skills
* Strong hands-on practical experience and knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies (i.e. EMC, NetApp, etc)
* Strong knowledge of NetBackup command line commands
* Custom Scripting (i.e. Shell, PERL)
* Supportable philosophies on data protection best practices with an astute understanding of the product options available.
You must be able to provide recommendations and support them to meet the Client’s business objectives. The premier candidate for this position will have the following technical skills / background, preferably on both Windows and UNIX platforms:
* Veritas NetBackup Enterprise Implementation and light Design/Architecture
* Veritas Bare Metal Restore (BMR)
* Veritas Shared Storage Option (SSO)
* Veritas NetBackup Advanced Client
* Veritas Backup to Disk (B2D)
* Virtual Tape Libraries (VTL) Experience
* NetBackup PureDisk* NetBackup 7.x, 6.x
* NetBackup Appliance 5xxx, MUST HAVE
* Installation & configuration Netbackup
* Main activities Perform regular system maintenance, including Incident solving, Change implementation, Patch management, Analyze/ solve performance and security issues Complex backup scheduling maintenance also includes helping solve complex problems related to operating system, databases, middleware or applications teams
* Troubleshooting backup failures and taking appropriate steps
* Hands on experience on Puredisk and Data Domain appliances.
* Configuration and troubleshooting of SAN Client backup (Fiber Transport)
* Clear understanding on SLP and Vault
* Upgrading and patching the Backup servers
* Oracle/ SQL/ ESX/ NDMP Integration with Netbackup
* Backup/ restoration (DR) of UNIX/ Windows Host
* Backup/ Restore for Oracle/ SQL/ ESX/ NDMP
* Managing Internal Database of Netbackup
* Should aLso have good understanding on TCP/ IP concepts.
* Need to have clear understanding on SAN Infrastructure and Architecture.
* Managing & Troubleshooting Netbackup appliance, Tape Library and Data Domain
* License Management
