A Global Swiss Bank is looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to join the Core Engineering - a significant IT Infrastructure organization within the bank, driving IT change and innovation to its global customer base influencing the daily lives of internal employees, but also external Bank clients. The role will be aligned to the Strategy Execution organization – a lean team supporting the Core Engineering organization in driving the overall strategy and execution. The person hired will support the Strategy Execution head in driving cost reduction efforts related to 3rd party vendor spend and will also support efforts related to workforce strategy and off-shoring. The effort will require collaboration with line management, product management and senior management.
Tasks
• The Project Manager will work in a small team, identifying cost efficiencies across infrastructure with a strong focus on 3rd party vendor spend.
• Thrive on collaborative and iterative approach to coordinate a significant program stream, delivering efficiencies on a daily basis.
• Organizes and leads the project and the team (i.e. plans and manages allocated resources, shapes priorities, coordinates interactions with customers and users and keeps the project team focused) on mandate of Program Manager.
• Ensures an efficient project governance – roles and responsibilities.
• Provides the project plan and updates it as needed (deadlines, milestones, delivery, requested and planned resources etc.).
Requirements
• 10+ years of background in project management / efficiency management within a global infrastructure organization.
• Banking experience is a must.
• Experience in collaboration with commercial services and sourcing.
• Affinity and passion on topic strategy execution / efficiency management.
• Good know-how of technology and 3rd party vendor spend.
• Ability to manage a large program across multiple regions and organizational structures.
• Able to develop business cases, seek finance buy-in and track progress.
Soft skills
• Strong negotiation skills in both - English and German.
• Ability to work across all levels in a large organization.
• Ability to solve complex challenges with little guidance.
• Bring the drive and interest to work in a global team / interact with management across all levels.
