IPTV Maintenance Engineer

We are currently recruiting for our client, a prestigious telecommunication company, for a IPTV Maintenance Engineer to join their project in Germany.

Position Title: IPTV Maintenance Engineer
Position Type: CONTRACT
Start Date: February / March 2016
Duration: 3 month (rolling)

Responsibilities:
- Serve as technical expert for IPTV system. Secure the functionality and Non-function technical quality of deliveries in customer projects.
- Software loading, configuration, integration, verification, and troubleshooting of existing solutions on a customer site or in a lab environment using clients products, 3rd party, or customized packages.
- Provide ongoing customer support throughout implementation.
- Attend and participate in customer meetings for specific solutions and different areas.
- Lead the investigation and isolation of unique and challenging problems, collaborating with product development teams and other support groups to devise a plan for resolution that meets the customer’s needs.
- 3rd level technical support for IPTV operation technical problems
- Maintain technical customer satisfaction, both external and internal customers.
- Delivery of support within predefined service level agreement.
- Define methods and process to lead both customers and internal resources through technical issue identification and analysis.
- Report software bugs to product groups. Advise on potential software improvements during the design and pre-release process.

Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Knowledge of video streaming, IPTV or content Delivery technologies and DRM
- LAN and internet networking experience
- Deep knowledge about transport protocols and Uni-/Multicast
- Being versed in at least one of the operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows 7) and mainstream database (Oracle, Informix, Sybase, SQL Server)
- Proven ability to diagnose and localize issues using logical analysis techniques
- Ability to understand the commercial environment whilst focusing on technical issues
- Operate successfully in an intense business environment and work across cultural and organizational boundaries
- Capability to remain calm and courteous with demanding/difficult customers and/or situations and to perform job functions to standards under pressure of tense/confrontational situations
- Ability to provide concise and clear, written and verbal reports
- Business fluent in German and English is mandatory
- Strong experience within the telecommunications industry is a must have
- Proven ability to interact with diverse customers in a multicultural environment
- Proven ability to provide legible communication
- Diploma degree or above in a relevant technical discipline
