Systems Automation Engineer
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join JP Morgan's new digital bank, Chase UK, in London on an initial 6 months contract.
The team you'll be joining is at the heart of building this new venture, focused on developing offerings that put the customer at the center. We have created a new organization and we are looking for solution-oriented, commercially minded, customer-focused systems engineers, used to working in an agile environment who want to be a part of something new built from the ground up within a diverse and inclusive team.
This hands-on Systems Automation Engineer role is part of an initiative that started as green-field with zero Legacy. They leverage the latest cloud-native technologies and the best industry practices to deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions and automate various processes and integration between different systems.
As a Systems Automation Engineer, your key skills should include:
- Professional experience working in an agile, dynamic and customer facing environment
- Experience of recent hands-on professional experience (actively coding) working as a systems engineer
- Extensive experience with Scripting languages (Happy to be lead on language Python, Bash, Perl, Groovy etc.)
- Experience in all stages of software development life cycle (requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release and support)
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment within a geographically distributed team
- Ability to focus on promptly addressing customer needs
- Ability to work within a diverse and inclusive team
- Technically curious, versatile and solution oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and web technologies
- Understanding of security frameworks/standards
- Experience in automating deployment, releases and testing in continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines
- A solid approach to writing unit level tests using mocking frameworks, as well as automating component, integration and end-to-end tests
*Please note JP Morgan are working on a hybrid model of 3 days in office and 2 days remote within the UK per week. When working from home you will need your own Laptop/PC as these are not provided.*
