Data Engineer - Azure Cloud (m/w/d) - 100% REMOTE

Required Skills:
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT design and implementation.
- DWH concepts like facts, dimensions, incremental vs full load, table design among others.
- Synapse Analytics and MPP design, i.e., table distribution types, index types, row-level security and partitioning.
- T-SQL
- Python and/or Scala for data processing with Spark
- Azure Synapse Analytics components: Pipelines, data flows, datasets, triggers, linked services, notebooks, etc.
- Notion of different authentication methods for databases, storage accounts and azure services.
- Access management for SQL dedicated pools.
- Access management for azure storage accounts.
- Visual Studio SQL Server Database projects.
- Delta tables concepts, i.e., time traveling, vacuum, partitioning, etc.
- Git
- Azure DevOps
- Good communication skills.
- Agile methods
 
Project Activities:
- Help business and data stewards driving the specification of new trusted structures (business-oriented datasets).
- Estimate the complexity for every deliverable.
- Build robust and performant data loading pipeline with Azure Synapse.
- Reuse existing pipelines, data flows and notebooks to deliver new loading interfaces.
- Implement access control in Azure Synapse Analytics by creating new users, roles and configuring row-level security.
- Source control for schema management using Visual Studio Database Projects.
- Automate builds and deployments using Azure DevOps for both, Azure Synapse Workspaces and SQL Server Database projects.
- Document technical processes.
- Translate business specification in deliverables including table design, transformation logic, logging requirements, error handling and monitoring.
- Support business during the UAT phases.


Sprachkenntnisse:
- Gute English Kenntnisse (verbal & writing)
