1) Context
As Project Manager you are responsible for the coordination of the Recommendation team. You coordinate the implementation of recommender systems within and across different media types (e.g. video, text, audio).
2) Tasks of the Project Manager
As Project Manager, you coordinate an interdisciplinary team of data scientists and data engineers with focus on the implementation of recommender systems.
In detail, the following activities fall into your area of responsibility:
- You, with the team, drive content discovery and user satisfaction through the implementation of recommender systems leveraging diverse data sources (within and across different media types).
- You ensure the end-to-end development of our recommenders, from the development and validation of features to their continuous improvement to the launch of the finished product.
- You create the backlog and prioritize the elements in the backlog based on the discussions with the various stakeholders and are responsible for achieving the sprint goals.
- You identify and flag risks and roadblocks to ensure on-time delivery of our products.
- You align with knowledge engineering teams so that they may prioritize the extraction of metadata -to be leveraged in our recommenders- from our different media types
3) Description of the Profile
• You have several years of professional experience as a project manager/product owner with agile teams in the field of data science and in a remote set-up
• You are familiar with Scrum and agile project management methods
• You have an IT / data science background
• You ideally have experience in recommendation systems. You are knowledgeable in different recommendation techniques as well as in how different data sources and feature engineering techniques may improve recommendations.
• You can translate complex requirements into detailed concepts and discuss them in detail with the team of data scientists and data engineers
• You work in a structured, independent manner, and result-driven
• You are passionate about collaborating with various teams throughout our organization
• Very good written and spoken German and English
4) Assigned period
If possible, from now on for 3 months, extension very likely. 5 days a week.
