Senior DevOps Engineer
Darwin GmbH are currently working with a leading eCommerce business in Hamburg who are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support an Ubuntu upgrade. They are upgrading a large batch of Ubuntu 16.04 database nodes to 20.04 and are looking for someone who can take over the migration of a batch of nodes to increase the overall progress. This is an English speaking fully remote position.
Role
- Create and bootstrap new database nodes
- Replicate data from old DBs to new DBs
- Coordinate tests and maintenance windows with product teams
- Manage switch from old to new DB
- Collaborate to improve the overall migration process (process and automation)
- Support in decommissioning already migrated hosts (remove Icinga checks, remove from load balancing, remove backups etc)

Tech: Ruby, Opscode Chef, PostgreSQL 9,10,11 & MySQL 5.5, 5.7, 8.0, VMWare
Communication: Slack, Jira, Confluence
