Our internationally operating client is currently looking for a Data Center Administrator (m/f) for a project in Walldorf.Task description:
- To maintain medium-sized Data Centre as integral part of an international Software Engineering and Support team
- Hardware: Physical installation of server and upgrading all components incl. CPU, Memory, and network
- Software: Installation & upgrading of BIOS, flashing EPROM, and HW drivers as well as installation of SuSE, Red Hat, Windows Server OS
- System Configuration: Integration of Server in existing IP-based network infrastructure
- Setup and configuration of Storage system, SSD and HD-based
Requirements:
- High discipline of keeping Inventory system up-to-date
- Root causing of Hardware/Software issues (incl. opening of tickets, failure description) to SW Hotline
- Further SW development of Data Centre inventory software incl. graphical API (currently Python, LAMP-stack + HTML)
- Verbal and Written reporting of Hardware/Software status in English
- Preparation of Hardware/Software cost estimates incl. communication with supplier
- Fluent in English and German
