Flint are seeking a Operations Engineer in a customer facing role for Video Software Solutions (SPVSS) for the Service Provider Video markets with solutions that enable cutting edge video experiences.
This is a dynamic environment that is at the heart of an exciting business transformation to Agile and DevOps. The role requires the successful candidate to work in highly collaborative environment, primarily based in both customer and client in Munich, with occasional travel to other customer sites in Germany
Role
You will be responsible for building highly interactive relationships - both on-site with the customer and back at the office with your colleagues. Active participation in DevOps groups responsible for the product CI/CD pipeline is required.
Otherwise effective monitoring, provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software.
Weekly and Daily tasks will include the following
- Automation of monitoring tasks, creative dashboarding
- Attentively manage Service Requests, Incidents and Problems
- Champion improvements into the product based on ease of trouble-shooting, monitoring, assurance, etc
- Develop tools, scripts, or processes as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years industry experience
- 3+ years experience of working in large, complex deployment environments
- 3+ years working in a Development or Operations team
- Experience of working with CI/CD, Agile and/or DevOps
- Demonstrable experience of Linux systems administration such as Red Hat or CentOS
- Experience of virtualisation technologies such as OpenStack, VMWare, Xen or KVM
- Working knowledge of a key database technology such as Oracle, MongoDB or Cassandra
- Experience configuring monitoring tools such as Splunk, ELK, Sensu, Grafana
- Good Scripting skills
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with ITIL processes
- Experience of config/automation tools such as Chef/Puppet/Ansible
- Deployment experience of cloud platforms, preferably Openstack/Heat orchestration
- Network administration/security
- Solid understanding of technologies such as encoding, DRM, VoD, CA
