IT Planner/Architect - Aerospace

A leading Aerospace manufacturer of engines are seeking an experienced software architect to join their team on a long term project basis. Initial contract likely to be six months+ with multiple renewals expected. Due to the long term nature of this opportunity the contract will be an employed option.

We are looking for support in the area of IT in the department "repair systems"

As part of the strategic orientation of IT in the next 5 years, the repair system of the client "ECMS" will be progressively migrated to a new technological platform.

The ECMS is a customized solution that is at all repair locations of the client - used worldwide.

The application now consists of a User Interface developed in VB.NET, a business component that has been developed in CICS/PL1 and the database DB2. In essence, it is a classic host application. Running on a modern IBM framework one of the main strategic goals is to convert the ECMS to a 3-tier architecture with a Java Application

In , the necessary decisions for the system architecture need to be taken, along with the necessary preparatory measures to monitor processes, guidelines, organization and training.

Your Tasks:
*Finalisation of architectural decisions
*Setting up the IT configuration including the necessary Pre-Requisites for software development, testing, deployment, monitoring, logging.
*Construction of new processes in a future international and agile development environment
