Job Title: GIS - Infrastructure Support
Job Purpose: Effective Support of client's desktop Infrastructure and related technologies company wide, looking to enhance and develop the existing infrastructure providing a proactive approach to support and the successful implementation of new systems and services.
Tasks: Maintain technical excellence so as to maximise service within the Support team, user departments and optimise commercial benefit to the Group.
Responsibilities of the 2nd Line Support team include:
1. Escalation and timely resolution of Incident/Problems/Requests
2. IT and Network security.
3. LAN/WAN.
4. Global Remote Support
5. Support of standard/third party desktop software
6. Problem management
7. Liaising with and managing third party suppliers whose products interface with our internal systems
8. Laptop Build and enhancements
9. Software upgrades
10. Implementation of new projects, systems and services
11. Proactive approach to system reliability
12. Creation of Service Desk knowledge articles
13. Conduct regular review of systems, procedures and controls
14. IP Telephony
15. Backup Systems
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
1. Educated to IT based degree level. Knowledge of ITIL Frameworks
2. At least 5 years experience in major support role
3. Analytical, precise, with open questioning approach
4. Excellent client facing skills
5. Ability to work under pressure and able to deliver tasks within tight deadlines
6. Highly proficient at supporting, installing and modifying Windows Vista and standard Microsoft applications
7. Extensive knowledge and experience of working with and supporting PC's/Laptops, networks and wide area communications across multiple sites.
9. Proficient in support, configuration and maintenance of the following:
- Active Directory Services, Microsoft XP/Vista, Microsoft Office 2007, Exchange 2007, Blackberry BES Administration, TCP/IP, GPO, WSUS, Anti-virus solutions (Forefront, Symantec), Backup Technologies (Microsoft DPM), SQL Server Admin Skills, LAN/WAN Technologies, Basic Cisco administration skills, Citrix Client
10. Exposure to Cisco IP Telephony and Call Manager
11. MCP/MCSE qualification would be favourable
12. Knowledge of Dell Hardware.
Location: Frankfurt (Main)
Language: German (min. full proficiency) and English (Fluent)
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months (with option for extension)
