Sybase DBA (Sybase Data Base Administrator)Sybase Data Base Administrator is required for a role in NRW Germany.The ideal candidate will speak German however not a must. More important is to have Database Software installation knowledge as well as Database System Administration for Sybase.
Duties: Performance monitoring, tuning and capacity planning SQL analysis and review Cross platform data transfer ( using standard DBMS utilities ).
Data backup and recovery Database performance tuning Preparation and maintenance of data dictionary Documentation for database related standard, guidelines and best practices Review project data models for internal standards compliance, which include naming standards, logical and physical data design concepts, avoidance of data redundancy and inconsistency, Review entities and terminology in the data model object names (table and columns) in order to avoid homonyms and synonyms. Ensure DB design best practices and normalization levels appropriate to application use, workflow, data management and performance requirements Providing support for database related queries and problems Create physical data structure for applications in Oracle including definition of tablespaces, devices or data sets Monitoring of production environments, server fog analysis and necessary performance monitoring User management, maintain and administer database users and logins for Sybase and Oracle in conjunction with application security Review and research bugs and defects in DB software pre-emptively and as encountered in development and QA processes.
Work with vendor support, acquire and apply patch or recommended solution.
