Our internationally operating client is currently looking for a Systems Engineer (m/f) for a project in Dortmund.Task description:
- Working closely with US based support staff on infrastructure updates and maintenance as well as rolling out new technology
- Defining scopes of work and cost estimates for IT infrastructure related projects
- Managing IT infrastructure related development and upgrade projects
- Supporting multiple locations within Europe and APAC
- Advanced support for servers and applications as well as helpdesk level support for local and remote users
- Creating and maintaining documentation for the local site network and applications
- Helping manage our IP Telephony environment (ShoreTel, Fonality & Siemens (in EMEA))
- Ensuring proper SOX compliance
- Provide Helpdesk support services to office and remote employees
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or technical field or equivalent experience
- Several years of experience in a support / admin role (m/f) required
- Profound knowledge of Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, and 2012
- Experience with Microsoft enterprise technologies: Active Directory, SQL, Exchange, Lync, IIS
- Networking experience with Cisco PIX and Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Excellent virtualization skills with VMware and Hyper-V
- Experience with online storage arrays using iSCSI and NFS connections
- General experience with IP based phone systems
- Experience with Backup Exec for system backups as well as backing up virtual servers using Veeam and backup scripts
- Experience with Windows XP, 7, and 8 desktops
- Excellent documentation skills using Visio to maintain local and remote network documentation
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware or application issues quickly and effectively
- Linux background is a plus
- Experience with Voice and data circuit provisioning required
- Strong experience with supporting users of cloud services
- Fluent in English and German
