We are looking for a Data Mining Expert (Short-term assignment) for a multinational Institution in Bonn/Germany
Tasks
Provide an advice on the most effective and cost-efficient solution with regards to an approach, timing, budget and needed expertise.
The consultant shall assess the current databases and portal and provide an advice on the options forward on these enhancements, namely on:
- Preparation of data from two databases for data mining purposes;
- Equipment of the portal with a public user interface with data mining functionalities and visualization facilities;
- Redesigning the portal current user interface to embrace data on new (progress) indicators which would be populated from internal and external data sources and validated/amended and published by the users on public user interface.
- In case if deemed too complex to integrate the data mining functionalities into an existing portal, alternative suggestions are welcomed.
- The consultant is further expected to assist with revision/development of technical specifications in terms of references, and provide estimates with regards to the required timeframe and budget.
Deliverables
1. Report:
- recommendations on the preparation of data from two databases for data mining purposes;
- recommendations on the implementation of the public user interface to query this data and produce dynamic charts, graphs, etc, some sections of this data should have an option of being restricted;
2. Report:
- Recommendation on preparation of portal for new (progress indicators), which would be populated from internal and external datasets. After validation these datasets should be integrated into the public user interface to query this data.
- Recommendation on the implementation of a user interface which allows the imported data from to be validated/corrected and published.
3. Report:
- Revision/development of technical specifications. Recommendations containing a plan on how to proceed in terms of time, budget and needed expertise.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing complex IT projects and developing technical requirements
- Experience in developing/implementing interactive data mining and visualization portals
- Knowledge of data mining techniques (clustering, classification)
- Experience with database technologies, particularly MySQL, MS SQL
- Expert in DRUPAL (the system on which portal is built) is preferred
- Excellent knowledge of PHP and JAVASCRIPT
- Excellent knowledge of English.
