Job Description
Designs, installs, and maintains the enterprise network to meet the functional objectives of the business.
Designs, develops and tests optimal telecommunications networks and related processes, including intra-corporate infrastructure and client connectivity solutions.
Studies current telecom cost and proposes alternative methods to reduce cost, improve service quality.
Proposes the use of new telecom products and networks.
Assesses network application needs, provides network modelling and simulation consulting to clarify Client Server or Internet/Intranet application functionality, and evaluates and implement new advanced networking technologies.
Involved with the network infrastructure, and the planning and design of enterprise local-area/wide-area network (LAN/WAN) solutions.
Performs additional job duties as required. Supports complex business projects. Works independently
Expected skill set
Undergraduate Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience 4-8 years of relevant IT experience with 1-3 in data networking
Strong knowledge of large highly redundant distributed networks, related hardware and software components, network and design architecture, Routers/Switches, as well as MPLS and Internet VPN connectivity solutions
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate and educate others about complex technology
Flexible hours based on a milestone driven test/product development cycle
Strong experience in network design, including WAN, transport, VoIP, VPN, and Firewalls Demonstrated
Knowledge in TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, and a solid understanding of MPLS
Industry standard certifications are a strong plus (CCIE, CCNP) Background in large enterprise environments
Understanding of transaction processing business technical network requirements Understanding of Cisco routing protocols and features.
Experience in sizing data transmission requirements, provisioning carrier services, designing robust wide area networks. Experience with Visio and Remedy preferred
Additional information
Fluent in written and spoken English.
German-speaking would be a benefit, but not a requirement.
Start as soon as possible, minimally until the end of the year 2015.
Start date: ASAP
Expected End date: with option to extend
Language English, German is a pre but not required
Parttime percentage 100% = 40 hr per week
