Job Title: Site Design Manager/Engineer
I'm looking for a German speaking Site Design Expert to be based in Western Europe on a 3 month extendable contract for one of the biggest telco companies in the world.
General Responsibility
l Ensure that site designs/construction/electrical standards and specifications are agreed with the customer prior to the start of the project
l Guarantee minimal design to provide value engineered designs
l Review site specific designs as produced by the Design Consultancy and make recommendations to manage cost and simplify construction
l Review and approve alternative materials proposed by suppliers and customers
l Ensure the site designs are in line with customers' requirement and standard of the operation and maintenance & Ensure that site designs are compliant with local Health and Safety requirements

Duties & Responsibilities
Profile and Requirement
l A qualified engineer with a minimum Bachelor degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
l A minimum 10 years experience in site design of the telecoms industry, gained working for a Design Consultancy, Equipment Vendor or Operator
l Familiar with the civil work program such like SAP 2000, ETABS, StaadPro, MSTower, PCA, or other software.
l Proficient in survey tools such as AUTOCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
l Familiar with the industrial standard of the steel structure in the telecoms industry such like DIN (Deutsche Industrie Normen) =(German Industry Standard)and ENS (Europaeische Norms)=(Europe Standard)
l An excellent understanding of towers, mon-pole and all antenna support structures
l Extensive experience in concrete or reinforced concrete of tower foundation, familiar with electrical design according to the local standard
l An in depth understanding of value engineering and the principles of cost effective designs
l A flair to produce non standard designs to meet environmentally driven requirements
l Experience of ensuring quality through design and designing within Health and Safety guidelines
l Good negotiation skills to be able to influence the decision of discussions with customers and suppliers
l A good communicator, fluent in German and English able to clearly convey meaning.
l Experience working in multi cultural teams
l Have the locally accredited structure engineer license will be preferred.
