Senior Consultant - Linux/Hortonworks Hadoop.
I have a large client in southern Germany. They are forming a team for a project with a health care provider. No German language skills are necessary for this rôle.
Interviews will take place late May/early June and the work begins from the 1st of July. The contract will last for six months and could likely be extended up to a year.
An idea of the work involved, and the skills you should have, follows:
Services to be provided:
- Design of infrastructure lab-based IT business requirements of the projects.
- Advising on the IT infrastructure needed to provide an efficient IT solution for the business.
- Introducing Big Data infrastructure expertise and experience to interfaces between private and public cloud solutions.
- Regular coordination with the Architect to synchronize project requirements.Co-ordination with the hardware and software suppliers to integrate purchased products.
- Installation and configuration of hardware and software according to the specifications of the projects:
- VMWare ESX hosts and coordination of HW-interfaces to Network/server/storage.
- Red Hat Linux Server.
- RHCE (desirable.)
- Server deployment and management tools such as:
- OpenStack; Chef, RedHat Satellite Server, Hortonworks Hadoop, SAS.
- Creating Shell Scripts (Bash, Ruby, Python) to the projects requirements.
- 3rd level troubleshooting, performance management.
- Reporting and coordination with the project team.
- Continuous preparation of project documentation.
