Job Information

The SCON (Supply Chain Operation Network) Team is looking for an energetic results-oriented individual that is self-motivated with experience in, or exposure to, Logistics and Supply Chain methodologies. This role is responsible for providing technical support for logistics, order management, procurement and supply chain business applications. This includes not only reactive support to customer issues, but also proactive engagement to improve the functional and technical performance and reliability of these applications. The candidate must be comfortable to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

TheTechnical & Functional Support Engineer is a critical role supporting and developing solutions. The role participates as cross functional member of the SCON Team, working with external clients and interna teams to identify, troubleshoot and escalate client issues and requests as well as drive improvements t- solutions and environmental issues. The goal is to ensure business continuity of our clients supply chain and to improve system performance and reliability.

The Responsibilities

Become Subject Matter Expert on logistics, order management, procurement and supply chain applications

Develop a strong functional and technical understanding of applications inventory

Responsible for resolution of all outages or issues; initiates and provides immediate notification of all Severity 1 & 2 incidents to stakeholders, develops Root Cause Analyses for incidents while on-call

Document and optimize processes, procedures, and solutions to ensure quick and efficient identification and resolution of client concerns

Research and report software bugs to the technical support team, development team and product management. Work with technical support team on education of product troubleshooting and issue resolution

The Experience and Skills Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or, or other related major

At least 1 year of experience using Java technologies

Strong analytical skills within the context of analyzing and mapping disparate data formats including good working knowledge of XSLT mapping, XML, and Oracle SQL

Familiarity/experience with one or more of the messaging formats used in B2B ecommerce i.e. EDIFACT, VDA, ANSI X12, IDOCs, XML, xCBL, etc.

Familiarity and/or experience with one or more of the communication protocols such as: HTTPS, IBM MQ, AS2, SFTP, FTP, FTPS, ebMS, oFTP, etc.

Strong problem solving skills

Good experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment

The Experience and Skills Desired

Experience with one or more of the following business process areas: logistics, order management, procurement, vendor managed inventory or supply chain process software

Exposure to Internet security and networking issues and technologies

Experience with use of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)

Ability to read and comprehend webMethods programming

The Personal Characteristics

Flexible, adaptable, able to work independently and must have the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences

Sound communication skills and experience working alongside other IT and business professionals
