My client is urgently looking for a Cognos TM1 Consultant to start a loooong term Project in Zurich/Switzerland.

Duration: 6 Month BUT the project will go until End of 2017

Overview - TM1 Development Expert

This position will provide strong development expertise to IT to facilitate and manage the design,

development, enhancement and support for planning related Cognos TM1 software development

projects at the client.

The position will be hands on with software code as well as interacting and supervising contract

resources developing and supporting software code for the client.

This role requires strong developer and integration expertise with TM1, acute financial acumen

to interpret and codify business logic within complex financial ledgers, and deep project lifecycle

management experience from design thru implementation.

In a developer capacity, the successful candidate will enhance current solutions as part of the

second phase of a development project as well as participate in the development projects of an

entirely new TM1 planning and performance management solution enabling more effective and

efficient planning at client's level.

The candidate should be proficient in coding TM1 Rules, Turbo Integrator, TM1 Web, and MDX

as well as all TM1 administration functions and best practices. Experience with IBM Cognos BI,

Windows/Unix server administration and scripting, and/or TM1 API development a strong plus.

In addition to development, this role will be responsible for ensuring the availability and

performance of the overall enterprise planning platform.

Furthermore, this position will provide Level 3 support of operational, administrative, and

break/fix TM1 issues. As a result, prior operational experience and critical thinking skills are

paramount in quickly restoring services, determining root cause, and mitigating future risks.

The role will report to the IT Project Manager Reinsurance Planning.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include

• Work with business customers and IT Project Managers and Business Systems Analysts

to analyze information needs and functional requirements and design TM1 solutions

to meet business needs. Clarify requirements as needed to support sound technical

development principles.

• Work with business system analysts to ensure high level designs including architecture

requirements are accurately documented and mapped to approved requirements.

Communicate technical concepts back to business to verify requirements through

presentations, excel examples and other prototypes.

• Understand and document data calculation and data validation requirements

• Collaborate with external development partners to incorporate TM1 development best

practices into application design and development. Perform technical development

activities especially around high technical complexity

• Prepare and present architecture, design and code reviews to ensure technical artifacts

meet Finance IT and client's standards.

• Develop plans and conduct tests to ensure application performance meets business

requirements

• Work with TM1 architects to ensure applications will fit within development, test and

production infrastructure footprint and meet best practices and standards for common

areas including security, backup, integrations and use of Master Data Management

• Participate in business requirements reviews for enhancements and provide feedback

to ensure requirements can be incorporated as best as possible into existing application

design

• Design and develop application enhancements and supervise contract resources and

review code

• Track and prepare the reporting of testing activities (e.g. testing results, test case

coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status) and prepare/update

UAT testing metrics

Profile

General:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science/ IT or related field

• 5 or more years related experience in software development initiatives or projects

with internal finance planning, actuals and forecasting components. Hands-on work

developing, deploying and supporting TM1 applications for a global user base.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally

with a diverse group of business and technology managers and subject matter experts

• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking required, including demonstrated ability

to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational

requirements

More specifically:

• 3-5 years design and development of Cognos TM1 applications, experience with version

10.1 required, experience with version 10.2 highly desired. i.e. the candidate should be

proficient in coding TM1 Rules, Turbo Integrator (ETL), TM1 Web, and MDX as well as

all TM1 administration functions and best practices.

• Experienced with using TM1 in conjunction with DB2.

• Strong knowledge of IBM Cognos BI, Windows server administration and scripting, and

TM1 API development.

• Experienced with TM1 server maintenance, environment setup, cube design, and

application design

• Integration with data warehousing and MDM solutions

• Knowledge of planning, budgeting, and forecasting functions and business processes

• Good data modeling experience and familiar with Data Warehouse best practices

• Relational database development and design knowledge - very strong DB2, SQL skills

• Cognos TM1 Developer and User Certifications preferred

• Reinsurance experience preferred but not required
