Scala Backend Developer
Scala Backend Developer required for the development and integration of machine learning modules and integration with IoT platforms.
Environment for Scala Developer: Angular with Typescript in the Front End, Scala in the Back End, Cloud SQL as database, dockerized deployments on a Kubernetes Cluster, hosted on Google Cloud - We rely on a LESS/SCRUM based workflow, push to release every 2 weeks, deploy with high automated test coverage, and monitor constantly
Relevant skills:
In depth experience with SCRUM/Kanban and Continuous Integration
Experienced in designing, developing and testing of fault tolerant software
You have built scalable applications (ca. 1.000 concurrent transactions)
Experienced with SQL databases and efficient query design
You have at least 3 years experience in developing Scala and feel comfortable with functional reactive programming (FRP)
Knowledge of libraries like doobie JDBC, cats and monix
Nice to have:
processing data at scale (eg using InfluxDB, Cassandra, Kafka, Hadoop and/or MongoDB)
machine learning, Real Time analytics and optimization
operate and distribute Docker containers in a Kubernetes cluster
experienced with services like BigQuery, CloudSQL, Cloud Functions, Cloud Data Flow and/or its equivalent services in AWS and Azure
