Essential Responsibilities:- Support the replacement of our customer in-house engine performance and predesign tool (based on FORTRAN) with NPSS
- Re-implement exiting calculation methods into NPSS (based on C++)
- Add computer sciences expertise and perspective to tool development
- Create and maintain the tool environment in Linux and Windows
- Migrate existing engine model code form FORTRAN to C++
- Support performance methods' development to improve calculation speed and numerical robustness (in NPSS and C++)
- Manage source code and change request process (CVS)
- Creation and maintenance of supporting graphical user interfaces in QT
- Support and programming of utility scripts (Linux Bash, Perl, Python)
- Assist with online user help system and Wiki pages
- Development and support of software interfaces and tool wrappers (multi-platform, multi-language
Your Profil:
- Education: Master's Degree in computer sciences or mathematics
- Experience in object oriented programming
- Experience in C++Software development and source code management
- Experience in GUI programming in QT
- Experience in Perl
- Experience in Python
- Interest in thermodynamic modeling of aero engine performance and preliminary design methods
- Proven ability to efficiently develop solutions with international business partners
- Language expectation: English (fluent or native), German (fluent or native)
