MUST-HAVE SKILLS
• The key person(s) shall have a University degree (minimum Master) in Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field,
complemented by at least 5 years of professional experience.
• Specification, implementation and validation of Business/Management Processes (electronic workflow)
applied to large software-intensive high-availability operational systems, ideally in the field of Configuration Management: minimum 3 years
• Administration of the Micro Focus (formerly Serena) ‘Dimensions CM’ tool and/or ‘Solutions Business Manager’ tool (installation from scratch,
release and patch upgrade, end-to-end process model implementation and verification, monitoring): minimum 5 years
• the UNIX/Linux operating system as advanced user: minimum 2 years
• Software development in an object-oriented programming language like vb.net, Java,
or C++ in an integrated development environment such as Visual Studio: minimum 2 years
• SQL programming on Oracle or Sybase databases: minimum 2 year
• Practical experience with Database administration (preferably Oracle) is also mandatory.
• have demonstrated very good communication and team working skills
• be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner,
in particular when supporting clients Change and Configuration management processes and working practices
• have demonstrated very good skills in timely documenting all his artefacts
• be able to work calmly under stress without supervision
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
Knowledge of the following would be additional assets:
• Source code control tools such as CVS or Subversion
• System administration (preferably on UNIX/Linux)
• the Microsoft Windows operation system as advanced user
• Configuration Management standards such as CMMI, ISO or ESA ECSS
TASKS
• Maintenance (corrective, preventive) and further development of existing and new clients CM tool instances managing
Changes and Configuration Items related to Programmes and Projects being developed by the client,
and to clients Operational systems: feasibility studies, user & software requirements, development, documentation,
unit and verification testing, deployment on test and operational environments;
• Creation, modification, update and version tracking of following Configuration Items:
• Documentation (management and technical documents, including Spacecraft/Ground Segment operational procedures, manuals and guides)
• H/W items (computers, infrastructure, Comms equipments)
• S/W items (including S/W applications, COTS and associated Licences)
• keeping up to date the mapping between S/W and H/W items
• Review and proposal of improvements to existing applicable clients Configuration Management processes and working practices
• Planning and preparation of above-mentioned new CM tool instances releases.
• Monitoring and tuning of the tools’ performance, and impact assessment on existing clients CM implementation.
• On a case by case basis, second level support to CM stakeholders (support team, user representatives).
