Beschreibung

CNC milling machines are the heart of the manufacturing industry. Few people have ever seen or heard of them, and yet they produce more than $100Bn worth of components every year, serving every manufacturing vertical.

Despite this, the software that is used to control them remains in the dark ages, requiring hours to days of manual instruction by a highly skilled machinist before a component can be produced.

Full automation of CNC milling would represent one of the most disruptive innovations ever seen in manufacturing, slashing the cost of metal components by multiples globally, and it is exactly this innovation that my client is developing.

Your Role

My client are now preparing to bring this disruptive technology to market, and as part of the core engine team you will help them achieve this.

The role is a combination of research and implementation. The role will consist of developing novel algorithms to solve real problems in machining and heavy-engineering.

I am looking for someone who has good communications skills and who can collaborate well in a team environment.

Skills & Requirements

One or more of the following would be ideal:

  • Experience working in C++ (11 or newer).
  • A strong grasp of vector and 3D maths.
  • A solid understanding of computer architecture.
  • A strong computer science background.
  • Experience in GPU and CPU optimisation.
  • Published papers in anything vaguely related would also be a plus, as would experience with CUDA or OpenCL, and intuition for solving 3D geometric style problems with code will need to be demonstrated.
  • Our Tech Stack
  • C+/17, OpenGL, CUDA and Boost
  • Java 8, Jersey, Jackson, Guice, Docker
  • Angular5, Typescript, WebGL, Redux
